This has been on my "wish list" for a while - I determined the size that I wanted and researched many options before I chose the Zojirushi rice cooker. After our old rice cooker finally died, I received my long-awaited rice cooker. The clean-up is very easy and the size is perfect and unobtrusive on our countertop. The rice I've made with this has been superb--better than the rice that came out of our old rice cooker, hands-down! I like the extended warming option and the fact that you have many menu choices to make various kinds of rice. The music (optional--you can turn off) that plays at the beginning and end of the cooking makes it easy to know when the rice is ready. Overall, I'm very pleased with this rice cooker and recommend highly.

My maiden voyage with this was wild rice. At the end of the cycle I had a bunch of standing water left in the cooker, despite using the recommended amount of water. I guess I could keep it and use less water next time but for the other problem -- instead of the steam just venting into the air I was left with a bunch of gooey water on my countertop. I was making 1 standard 8-ounce cup of wild rice, which should be well within the capacity of this cooker. For over $200 I expect better. It's going back.

This rice cooker cooks the white rice just right. Easy to follow instructions which takes away the guess work on how much water to put in. Size is just enough for a small party. Plays music when you start cooking and when it finishes.

I use this rice cooker once or twice a day. Everything (brown rice, sushi, steel cut oatmeal, sweet sticky rice, etc) comes out perfectly. I would never be able to cook such perfect rice on the stove. I thought that I made a mistake of not buying 10 cup model, but 2-3 cups is what I end up cooking for a family of 4 (and we have the leftovers). I am so impressed with Zojirushi, would definitely buy their products in the future. The trick is also to buy good quality rice from Asian grocery stores. Love it and don't understand why so many of my non asian friends never use one. At this point this seems like #1 appliance to have. I have to stop my love poem to Zojirushi here :-).

After my old rice cooker bit the dust, it was time for a new one. I own other Zojirushi products, and they have all been fantastic. Very well-built and reliable. I did a lot of research before buying this item. I'm very pleased with my purchase. The IH makes a big difference, the rice comes out perfect every time. I eat a lot of rice so this is one of my most frequently used appliances. Making okayu and steel-cut oats is so easy. The timer function is a big time saver. I just fill it up the night before and rice is ready in the morning for breakfast (or lunch/dinner). Wonderful purchase!
